I took this photograph yesterday while shooting something else for a client. The sun was fierce and she was sitting under a patio umbrella with a dainty white hat on. These conditions plus her dark complexion made it very difficult to get a proper exposure but all of these technicalities become meaningless when her beauty beams from 83 year old eyes. I’m thankful for this shot.

Sunset at Wrightsville

This photo might look like a major Photoshop overhaul but it’s not. This sunset, the last in fact of 2011, was quite saturated in color and with a slow shutter speed the water looks softer if not a bit more abstract. Photographs of sunsets are almost always beautiful because sunsets are, well, almost always beautiful. I suppose the best thing about this shot is that it takes me there.
